Filenaming conventions

Top  Previous  Next

Scheduling is a date driven process and scheduling on a daily basis can create many files (imports, published schedules and saves).

When MaxScheduler creates a save file it uses the convention of:

"prefix" + "date" + "version" . "extension"

For example a sample save file has the filename "mx070401a.SAV".

prefix - defined through Application Configuration

date - is the date found at the top of the schedule. This can be set through menu File | Enter new schedule date

version - if a save is done multiple times for the same date, each save has an added alphabetic letter denoting the order of saves for that day. For example it can be "c" representing the third save for that date.

Published schedules use the same file name convention.

We recommend you use the same convention for created import files if you use them.
