Importing items to schedule |
Top Previous Next |
A powerful way to use MaxScheduler is to use the import facility to bring in item data. MaxScheduler can import ASCII files. The first step is define item attributes through Configuring the Import Feature.
The next step is to trigger the import through the File menu. From our industrial experience we have seen that import data for scheduling may be done multiple times for the same schedule. For example, new jobs get entered throughout the day or the export file always contains a history of items to schedule including that are already in MaxScheduler. MaxScheduler is built to handle these scenarios.
To import a new schedule use menu File | Import file as new schedule. This will clear the schedule (Board) and populate the List view with the imported data.
If you want to add to the current entries in the List view use menu File | Import file as add on to schedule.
If your importing with a file that already has scheduled items, MaxScheduler can filter out existing entries. This is done by setting a filter through menu Configuration | Edit general application attributes.
As you schedule over time you will gather many import files. To help with this, we have file naming recommendations.
MaxScheduler supports automatic importing from Quickbooks. The details are outlined in Getting Started with Quickbooks. |
